Ric Blair, the leader of The Celts, approached me for one of our Celt models, for obvious reasons. The initial reason was that when he heard JIm Cole’s Petros GC during a radio show they were taping, his vintage Martin “sounded like a toy from then on,” and he just had to get a Petros. I had just sold the Celt I had in stock, but I had an African Rose and it looked very “Celtic” in design. He was about to record “A Celtic Christmas Celebration” in just two weeks. He happily took possession of the African Rose temporarily until we could build his Celt. He used the African Rose exclusively on the taping of the show which is now on DVD and aired internationally on TBN just before Christmas. It is slated to be on PBS for next Christmas and will go on tour internationally then as well. On December 13, they performed the show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and he invited me to come down to see it. It was the day of the biggest blizzard in many years, with 55 mile per hour winds. Seemed like a good idea to get on an airplane a try to fly there. Well, I made it. Got to Nashville about midnight. Jim Cole picked me up. I had to jump out of the car 3 times to push! Nashville was a sheet of ice! The show was the next day and everything went well. What an amazing show. It was definitely worth the harrowing flight. The DVD is something you will watch every Christmas right along with “White Christmas” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

"The first time I heard a Petros Guitar was when Jim Cole and I performed on a radio show in Nashville on the day of the famous Nashville flood. I was immediately flooded with envy because Jim's guitar made my Martin sound like a toy. He let me play it. I strummed a chord went out for breakfast, ran 5 miles, planted a tree, solved world hunger, and when I returned to the studio the Petros was still sustaining.
(please forgive the hyperbole) But the point is, I have seriously never played a guitar that had such amazing sustain and tone; and the action is like butter. I am convinced, Petros is the best acoustic guitar maker in the world."
