Macyn’s musical journey started when she was 7 years old in  her Brownie troupe. They were slated to do a talent show at the local nursing home but she didn’t think she had a talent. Her dad had an old guitar at home and said he’d give her some lessons. Within a month she had learned over 20 songs. She began playing at lots of retirement homes, farmers markets, coffee shops, fund raisers and even at some Irish pubs. She loved it and even started to play on sidewalks and earned the title of “Sidewalk Superstar!”  Next she got some gigs at the student union at Madison where an impressed music instructor suggested that she enroll in some college music courses. Soon she was enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee school of music in the only accredited Fingerstyle Guitar program in the world where she is working toward a degree and performing publicly wherever she can.  At age 12, she discovered Petros Guitars and bought her “’Dream Guitar,” a Walnut and Englemann FS. Six weeks later we arranged a recording session where she recorded 24 songs without an overdub or second take. Look for her in Southern Wisconsin or Northern Illinois playing at festivals and opening for many of the greats. In a couple of years, when she’s 14 or 15, you’ll be seeing new guys opening for her.
